I've posted pieces from this book on social media and have influenced multiple friends to buy it because of that! Even if you think poetry isn't your cup of tea, you should pick up this book. Gave to Teenage daughter and she really enjoys poems and how inspiring, meaningful and thought provoking they are. A short book of poetry and prose covering a wide array of topics personal to the author including abuse, love, heartbreak, and feminism. Her debut novel, I found it absolutely riveting. The subject matter is pretty mature so I would say adults or older teens only for this one.

Emma Chiu I understand why you would need to question this books appropriateness, sexual assault. The book is a beautiful story meant to be understood on a complex, emotional level. High school students are at very high risk for issues of rape, however let's not kid ourselves into believing that high school students do not experience things like sexuality and sexual assau.
